I went back to Taichung to visit Allison and Lien for the weekend. We had originally planned to go Water Zorbing at a park but when we got there they told us that the government had shut it down. We were bummed but we decided to make the most of the day. The park is called Fengle Sculpture Park (豐樂雕塑公園). I had never been there before and like the name says, it is full of sculptures. Weekend with Lien and Shauntelle
Lien and Shauntelle were going to Kenting for the weekend and they invited me to come tag along with them. We ended up spending a night in Kenting, a night in Kaohsiung, and then a night in Tainan. It was pretty cozy with three people staying in my dorm room size apartment barely big enough for 1 person. Year of the Rabbit – Chinese New Year
Allison and I both had time off for Chinese New Year so she came and stayed with me in Tainan for a week or so. We toured around some sites in Tainan and then spent some time in Kaohsiung. I have been wanting to go to Kaohsiung for quite a while now but never really had time for it. I was always traveling somewhere else and just passing through the train station. Armed with some printed google maps in Chinese, I and 5 other brave souls set off on a trip across Taiwan to Guānzǐlǐng. I had been nominated leader and tour guide of this adventure. Changhua Buddha
Today me and Lien were trying to think of things to do and decided to jump on a train and head to Changhua. It turned out to be a great idea. The city is huge and amazing. It is abotu 30 minutes by train south of Fongyuan, past Taichung. We first went to a Confucian temple which was really cool. It wasn't just one building but had several buildings full of old stone tablets with Chinese writing, bells, drums, and other cool things. Trip to Taichung
Happy 4th of July! Today we took a trip to Taichung, the 3rd largest city in Taiwan. Some of the group went by bus but a few of us took the train. Now in Taiwan
I finally arrived in Taiwan. I actually got here a couple of days ago, but I haven't updated my blog or uploaded any photos... until now! The flight was really long but I had about the best seat you could expect. I had an isle seat somewhere in the back but then traded with a guy because he wanted to sit next to his girlfriend.
